Theatre arts classes and workshops
Milwaukee Youth Theatre offers theater classes, audition workshops, improv training, Shakespeare and other performing arts for children ages 8-Senior in high school.
Camps, classes and workshops
All camps, classes and workshops take place in person, at one of our Milwaukee locations:
- Main Stage (North Shore Presbyterian Church, 4048 N Bartlett Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53211)
- Black Box (Lincoln Center of the Arts Middle School (LCA), Room 208, 820 E Knapp St, 53202)
Fast Forward Theatre Camp (Dec 28-30)
Just one day to write and two days to rehearse, tech and perform. This fast paced theatre camp will give you a creative outlet on those long days over break when school is out.
How does it work?
- Writers are assigned random topics and given seven hours to write
- Directors pick both their sketch and their actors from a hat
- Students work at a break neck speed to get their group ready to perform for friends and family on day three!
Day 1: Writers Retreat (Optional)
Only sign up for this day if you are serious about writing a sketch.
- Sunday, December 28
- 1pm-8pm
- For students 10 and up who are interested in Writing a short play to be performed by other students
- Only 10 spots open
- Dinner provided
Day 2: Rehearsal
- Monday, December 29
- 9am-3pm
- For students 10 and up who are interested in Directing or Acting (Writers from Day also included)
- Lunch provided
Day 3: Rehearsal and Performance
- Tuesday, December 30
- 9am-6:30pm
- 6:30pm performance
- For students 10 and up who are interested in Directing or Acting (Writers from Day also included)
- Lunch and dinner provided
Dates: Sunday, Dec 28 – Tuesday, Dec 30
Length of each class:
Dec 28 is an optional writer’s retreat: 1pm-8pm
Dec 29 is for actors, directors and writers: 9am-3pm
Dec 30 is for actors, directors and writers: 9am-6:30pm
Dec 30, 6:30pm performance for family & friends
Ages: 10 years-Seniors in high school
Cost: $100 for 2 days, $150 for 3 days (meals included)
Location: MYT Main Stage (North Shore Presbyterian Church)
